Limited Edition Border Fine Arts Cairn Terrier

This resin model of a Cairn Terrier on a plinth stands 7½” high, made in Scotland by Border Fine Arts, designed by Margaret Turner.

The original red Cairn was in production from 1998 – 2001.

This dark brindle piece is in fact the red Cairn re- painted dark brindle.

In the 1980’s/90’s models of red Cairn Terriers were quite common, however it was quite rare to come across a model of a dark brindle Cairn especially of this quality.

In 1998 as a Fund raising effort the Cairn Terrier Relief Fund purchased 16 red Cairn models from Border Fine Arts and asked one of their artists to repaint them. (16 was the minimum number they would consider doing).

The artist was given a number of photograph’s of a Cairn named Pierowall High Class (a.k.a. Betsy) a 2 year old bitch, and he hand painted all 16 models as closely as possible to Betsy’s colouring as he could.

This model is no. 4 of 16 and is an extremely rare and sought after piece.

I stand to be corrected, but I think this is the first time that one of the 16 has been offered for sale.

This is a unique opportunity to own a quality and rare model that captures the true character of our beloved breed.

We are starting with a reserve of £125.

Bids are only accepted in GB pounds.

It is in a beautiful gilt frame.

The painting does need cleaning and the frame needs a little restoration.
